Printing From Photoshop On MAC Catalina Question
« on: January 02, 2020, 05:38:59 pm »

I am looking for some clarification on Printing from Photoshop CC 2020 on a MAC using a custom paper profile on an Epson R3880 Printer and choosing Photoshop Manages Colors

I have been told that although the print driver states that Color management is Disabled Apple have changed something in the latest OSX which means that it is Enabled.

Can anyone please confirm as to whether the color management is actually Disabled in accordance to what it says.

Thank You

Ian

Yes and if you go into the Color Matching area of the driver, when LR or PS is set for Application Manages Color, the ColorSync radio button is selected and grayed out.

Thank You Andrew for confirming it is Disabled.
I was told by tech Support of Datacolor that it is Enabled and they told me I had to install a generic RGB Profile to counteract it which seemed a little strange to me.

Ignore this old video!
The video is also kind of ridiculous; he shows the ColorSync Utility and profiles there, calls them "Media Settings" at 1'51, media settings are part of the print driver.
The Generic RGB profile should already be installed by the OS and no, you don't need it.
