Hasselblad 80mm hc 2.8
« on: December 17, 2019, 07:51:54 pm »

Hey everyone, I was looking to sell my 80mm lens today and I noticed my lens won't focus close cat all.

Once it gets to about 1.5 meters its stops, and becomes extremely noisy. This lens and been babied and only has 2000 shots on it, its out of warranty and I want to know what could have caused it.

Is it worth it to get it fixed? What the of price tag am I looking at (im broke until I sell off my Nikon Gear lol)

Is this something normal with Hasselblad lenses?

If you hold the lens in your hands and rotate the focus ring does the scale go the full distance? What are the first 4 letters of the serial number?

The ring keeps spinning but the focus stops at 1.5

Serial: 7CSP

Ok. It's a 2003 lens and the focus mechanism is jammed or broken.
You can get an estimate on the Hasselblad site of around 400 Euro so your call.
You might find someone else to have a go at it (possibly making it worse) or just use it further than 1.5m
For some reason a lot of people buy broken lenses on eBay too.
If someone had an X1d and was saving to buy an XCD lens then it could be a cheap stop gap.
Good luck.
