A few snips with a wire cutter and I could get through.
They look delicious (but not the variety called "Delicious.")

Farmer that owns that orchard stakes it out with a 12 gauge full of rock salt.....been there swiping strawberries and never want another night of four of us boys picking salt out of the backs of our legs...scared us more than it hurt.
