printer extended warranty worth the bother?
« on: November 22, 2019, 05:48:31 pm »

likely to get a new canon ipf 2100. for moderate use. havent got the costs of the extended warranty. are they worth the bother? getting canon because they will deliver it, bring it in, set it up and get it running. all the other printer companies will do is ship something on a pallet to Hawaii from California and leave it in the parking lot on the pallet. and canon will take away the not worth fixing  8300 I already have. Thanks!

The printer is too new to have a repair track record, but if this is a business for you and you absolutely have to have your printer up and running then I suggest you get a service contract. But if this is just a hobby then I wouldn't bother as you still have the regular warranty to fall back on.

ask canon what a service visit on the 2100 is. for the 44" printers a $1k service visit with a likely $495-1500 in parts makes an extended warranty attractive IF as mentioned above it's for business.
