Arrival
« on: November 14, 2019, 01:42:42 pm »

My first day to the mountain I got a little lost hiking up in the dark. I should have kept going, I was so close... to the waterfall everyone has shot a million times over. But it was dark and I didn't know. I have so many spectacular shots from this day it's hard to choose one... hundreds. And considering I usually don't find a reason to pull out my camera, that's a testament to this place.

Excellent shot  :)

I have so many spectacular shots from this day it's hard to choose one... hundreds.

What a happy problem to have though eh?

I think (hope) we have all experienced this type of happy problem. Hunting for images day after day and then suddenly there it is in front of you in all its glory and it stays that way for what seems like hours and so instead of having to work hard to catch the light when it is at its fleeting best, it just keeps on coming.

I have found on such rare occasions, that because we ususally have to grab at what we can capture, that even if it does stay really good for a looooong period of time, that we still shoot it in a sort of desperate rush to capture it just in case it fades in the next couple of seconds and so we can rack up far too many shots of the same subject. But oddly enough, usually the one you first choose as your best select, will probably not be your best image in the long run, as it can usually be the one with all the obvious bells and whistles in it that we are drawn to first - so I have found that if you can just give it a month (or two if you can bear it) and then go back in and re-look at all your files from that shoot, then I wouldn't be surprised if you find the real hidden gem in there somewhere at the back and which will then turn out to be the WOW image from that day.

Away from my computer at the mo, so please forgive me for any tryping errors  ;)
