Epson V700 "Film" greyed out
« on: November 08, 2019, 01:02:17 pm »

I have just reconnected my Epson V700 scanner, after a long time of no use.

It is now connected to a Windows 10 machine; last time I think it was on Windows 8.

However I have downloaded Epson Scan 3.921 (although I think this was already loaded under Win 8)

I have used the reflective scanning and all is OK. However I want to scan a bunch of 35mm slides so need "Film" Made sure film lid is plugged in, Blue light illuminates. Pushed both locks in, on main unit and lid, and done several reboots of the computer.

Open Scan in Professional mode go to Document Type but it will not accept Film just stays as Reflective.

Any ideas please?

May have found the problem. The belt that drives the light source, in the lid, had come out of the groove in the light source transverser. A bit fiddly to reinsert, slipped the belt off the pullies. Got the belt back into the groove then belt back on pullies then cover screwed by its eight screws.

Trying first scans; seems to be working.
