Taken quite some years ago, but recently rediscovered in my files.

Very nice, this brings back very old childhood memories of cold but fun winters.

Thank you gentlemen for the kind comments. Of interest (at least to me) is that this image was taken in 2000 with my first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 990. Costing $900 and sporting a whopping 3 megapixel sensor, it was often touted as the best digital camera for under $1000. In the contemporaneous review at DPReview, the author opined that "In my personal opinion we'll reach a maximum pixel count, a level at which pro-sumers (those willing to spend upward of $1000 on a digital camera) will have enough pixels (probably around the 6.6 million pixel point - 3000 x 2200)." Fun to go back down memory lane and remind ourselves what people were thinking and predicting in the good old days.

Love it, Arlen.
Reminds me of some shots my grandfather took a long time ago.

Me too. I never lived on a farm, but I have a few vague memories of being on my grandfather's farm before I was five, when the farm house burned down. No running water, and daylight visible in the chinks of the bedroom log wall. A barn and a small, old shed not unlike the one in this picture were visible behind the house.

Just goes to show that almost shadowless light has its place in creating a feeling. It evokes a wonderful nostalgic quality.
