Morning light on Abruzzo landscape
« on: October 09, 2019, 06:32:54 am »

I'm soon off on my next trip to Italy to run two workshops in Abruzzo and Tuscany. The autumn is calling on me :) Abruzzo is an area of Italy that is not overrun by photographers, so I have it pretty much to myself and my groups when I run a workshop there. Sometimes Giro Italia is passing through the area.

If you look closer on this picture beyond the rolling hills and texture, there is a small shelter for sheep beyond the first two hills in the V between them. In the far distance the ruins of the almost 1000 year castle Rocca Calascio can be seen. The human and historic element of this area appeals a lot to me besides the sheer beauty of the landscapes. The altitude of where I shot the picture was 1700 meters.

Thanks for all the comments :) And yes, you need to get up in the morning to shoot the sunrise :) This photo was shot at 8 in the morning, but of course there was a 40 minute drive to the location. Btw. it's something I see in all the touristic places that the tourists come when we walk back from a morning shoot and then they even complain that the photos does not look what they see. :)

I also do not expect Abruzzo to be overrun by either tourists or photographers. They all go for the well known and iconic places.
