P800 printing only part of image

Apparently this problem is common, and I've tried all the suggestions to remedy that I have found.
My problem specifically is printing Canson Rag Photographique from the front feed sometimes only prints a strip down one side of the paper and the rest of the image is blank. I'm using the P800 drivers from the Epson NZ site (not airprint), printing from photoshop via USB on a high end machine.

I have tried the following without success:
Turned off and on the printer and restarted PC
Uninstalled all epson software and deleted the printer from Windows 10 and re-installed (the Epson enima)
Saved the image to jpeg & reprint
Checked image & canvas size & all settings ie. page orientation & size in driver page setup and photoshop
Tried multiple variations of settings
Tried printing with preview on & off (apparently there was a bug with this)
Contacted the printer merchant who suggested the head check & restart

I just tried a test print six times with six failures, did a nozzle check (all good), printed the same image from the top sheet feed on gloss paper with gloss settings which worked fine, changed everything back to matt / front feed and then it printed successfully on the Canson paper. Also after having the same issues I successfully printed from roll paper, and after changing back A4's printed correctly. Then it will start printing blank space again.

In all cases the print preview looks fine.

Sometimes when I open the print dialogue the photoshop print preview looks screwy (see attached) and sometimes its fine but this doesn't indicate whether it will print ok, it seems really random. Going in and out of the printer driver settings (without doing anything else) from the photoshop dialogue, sets the photoshop preview to the correct view. The second attachment is the correct preview but even if this looks ok and the driver preview looks ok it still mis-prints. Many hours and wasted paper later I'm pretty frustrated.

Could it be the cable or something to do with my graphics driver? Any other suggestions?

I had similar situation w few times. I did not find exact solution, but almost always, cosing PS and resetting Windows helped (this happened also when printing from QTR, as far as I remember).
Now, I have not experienced any of such a case for more than 1 year. What changed? New PC with everything new including operating system (Win7--> Win10), more RAM etc. Also, I update printer firmware each time new version is released. Just my 3 cents.

Not sure Rand, but I believe you meant Paper Size Check, which is accessed in the Printer Control Panel.  My apologies if I'm wrong, but if that is what you meant I agree totally, and I hope this helps the OP.

All of the suggestions are good and may help.
I can say though that after having exactly the same problem with my 3880 years ago and wasting a mass of paper and ink I was introduced to Mirage Print and have never looked back.
Whatever you see on the preview screen is what is printed, to the millimetre.
I would never print from an editing application again.

Yup... thanks for the clarification.  I wasn’t in reach of my printers when I posted... but figured I was somewhere in the ball park re the terminology.
