quadtone rip 7800 no photo black PK quads?
« on: September 14, 2019, 07:49:19 am »

Hi, i wish to print b&w on ilford gold fibre silk using quadtone rip instead the epson  A BW, i know i need to either use an existing quad or create a new one.

After installing quadtone on my 7800 i see there are only MK curves and no PK?

It is also not installing the raw curves so i cannot create a new quad?

Question, how can create i a new quad for this paper?

I will also be using DTP70 for scanning target.

many thanks

There are PK Curves.  All of the UCpk curves are to be used with PK.  Hence the "pk".  There are neutral, sepia, warm and warmer versions as shown in the screenshot below.  Also, you will find all of the information you need on the QTR forum here - https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/QuadtoneRIP/conversations/messages.  Go to "sign in" and create an account and you can take advantage of all the fine folks there, and the inventor (Roy Harrington) chimes in occasionally as well.  If you are not seeing this dialog you should perhaps reinstall QTR and also check the forum for more information.

Which version of QTR are you working with and which OS version?  Also, I see you're printing from the Print Tool, which I also have but have not used yet.  The screenshot of my setup is from Photoshop in High Sierra and QTR version 2.7.8.  If you are working in Mojave and version 2.7.9 that might be part of the issue.  Have you tried reinstalling QTR and perhaps printing from Photoshop?  Otherwise I think you should be in touch with Roy.  You can find his contact on the QTR site and he usually replies within a couple of days.

Hi and thanks for reply, using Mojave 10.14.6 & Quadtone 2.7.9

Makes no difference where i am printing from as there are no PK files in the 4800-7800-9800-UC folder! There are in other folders?

Tried reinstalling from fresh download of 2.7.9 but still the same.

thanks

As I mentioned previously, get in touch with Roy on the QTR site.  I'm sure he will help you with this issue.  I cannot think of any reason the PK files would have been scrapped in this version of QTR, but Roy will certainly be able to offer an explanation if that is the case, or a fix if possible.
