Installing Hahnemuhle AM1X files on Canon Prograf 1000
« on: September 12, 2019, 12:12:31 pm »

Hey everyone,

We are having trouble installing Hahnemuehle (and I presume, any) AM1X files on the Canon 1000 so that they show up when choosing a media in the media selection pane on the printer prior to printing.

After installation with the media configuration tool, we can see the media in Advanced Paper Settings / Paper - related settings / Select the Media Type. But we cannot select the media type there, because the printer wants it selected out in the main media selection pane where all the other Canon media are located. But the new Hahnemuhle media profile does not show up in that window.

Is there a way to select the media in Paper related settings, or to get the media to show up in the main media window with all the other Canon media in a "Custom" folder the way it does on the Canon 4000?

Any advice or feedback would be appreciated.

There is no way.

If the custom paper can be fed only from the manual feed does not show up on the printer operation panel. You select it only in the printer driver.

If the custom paper can be fed from both trays (top feed and manual feed) then it is show up on the operation panel On the printer.

In any case you don't have to choose the correct media type on the printer like the PRO-4000. You select it only in the printer driver and you go from there.
