Confused: two versions of PS CC installed
« on: September 11, 2019, 11:00:21 am »

Somehow, through inattention I suppose, I have two versions of Photoshop CC in my Creative Cloud app: 19.1.9 and 20.0.6.  I'm running Win10.  If I look in my Program Files\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 the date for Photoshop.exe is 7/24/19, though I updated it yesterday.  When I start PS I get version 20.0.6 in the "About" box in the Help menu.  So, why do I have two versions in Creative Cloud app?  Do I need to do anything?

To add to the confusion I also have a folder in Program Files\Adobe Photoshop CC 2018.  In it Photoshop.exe is also dated 7/24/19, though the file size is smaller than in Program Files\Photoshop CC 2019.

Color me greatly confused and not knowing what to do, if anything.

Thanks in advance.

I updated to the latest version just a few days ago and I asked it not to install on top of the older version (2014) I had, which was my choice.  Adobe has made that the default case.  If you want to remove the older version, there is box you have to specifically check.  I don't know if that is what happened in your case.  Also, for the the new version even though it is 20.x.x, the folder created for it is named Photoshop CC 2019.  It is kind of confusing how Adobe does these things.  I find it is best not to look behind the scenes as long as I am able to do what I want.  I am not the world's savviest PC person so I dare not delete any folders or files.  As long as you are not running out of storage space, I would recommend just leaving them alone.
