Large format note cards
« on: September 11, 2019, 08:42:27 am »

I am hoping to do small runs of note cards, say 4 x 6 ", on my 7900. I am hoping to find large sheets, perhaps 24 x 28, that can be fed thru the printer and then separated into individual cards. Does such a thing exist?

I think your best bet is to find the roll stock you prefer, set up to print and cut one row of cards at a time, then use a manual cutter to cut individual cards. Of course folding them without a score is another story.

The simplest/easiest (though not necessarily the cheapest) way is to print on 8.5x11 sheets and then cut to size. This is what I do, though I make 5x7 instead as less of the sheet is wasted that way.

I use this to add the fold crease:

with this blade:

I tried to figure out a way to do what you are proposing and ultimately I decided to go online commercial with UPrinting.com

They are not cheap IMHO but worth the cost, the quality of the printing was spectacular: color, finish, packaging, with envelopes.

I found it helpful to talk to a rep online and they walked me through the process of dropping my images into their template. They do an automatic CMYK conversion when you set up your image.

You do need to do many multiples of a single image going this route, each image printed incurs a separate shipping cost.
