Inspired by Martins road memorials, ...

Johan died 23 years ago, I ask myself if the old blemish on the tree trunk is another silent witness of the drama.

Nice to see you back, where have you been?

A delicate, evocative pair of photographs.

Hi Rob, thanks for asking. I had a busy period with some work I can’t show on Lula.

And in between I had a steep learning curve in getting something drinkable out of my new espresso machine. 😳🤦🏻‍♂️

Nice one Ivo. I really like them.

And if I may ask. What machine did you buy? I am a big coffee fan myself. I have a La Marzoccho Linea mini and a Simonelli grinder. It is one of my life’s big pleasures.

Much less than a Marzocco I’m afraid, Martin. But nevertheless very workable.
A Vibiemme domobar super Hx and a compak grinder.  :D

Well I Justify it because I drink no alcohol. Haven’t done for 14 years. The savings more than pay for the coffee machine. Any that’s what i tell myself.

I’m teetotaler since 19 year, Martin. If I made that sum, I could go for a Marzocco as well, a gold plated. 😬😬

Justifications like that, Martin, can drive you crazy: if I have no coffees in bars I might be able to buy a better car, but that would sit idle most of the time too, just like the one I have, as I tend to walk almost everywhere now. That's why I need the coffee when I'm out there.

It is all about priorities.
I don’t care much about cars, as long as I can ride my bike, I’m happy. And good espresso between the rides.
And of course my beloved wife in the neighborhood, when she would not be around, much would be pretty meaningless.

A non drinking Belgian sounds as unlikely as a non drinking South African
