Hasselblad X1D - Great deal?
« on: September 03, 2019, 06:29:05 am »

I'm considering and X1D on a second-hand deal - Still a big investment.

Are current users of this 1st generation X1D camera happy?

Have you experienced any issues I should be aware of?

Thanks for your input

Yes. It does all that I was expecting. It is a lighter and smaller Hasselblad to replace my H4D.
Image quality and colour accuracy with Phocus is excellent.

None that you probably haven't read about. It is slow to turn on and fairly hard on batteries if not tethered.
I will probably get another battery and the battery dock.
The biggest issue for me was getting used to an EVF.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the tips. How do you find adjusting focus points and AF focus in general?

I mainly do product and landscape so 90% of the time I use MF so I can't really comment much. Straight AF is fast and accurate. Changing points I seldom do but it is just touch screen.

I have X1D, 45 & 90XCD. Love the image quality & color SOOC. Focus points are plenty & changing sizes (of focus points) comes in handy too. They are quite easy to change either thru' scroll wheels or touch screen, no biggie. I often find myself being lazy & leave it alone. Lock focus via back button focus, recompose & shoot. Plus it works like a charm & is quite accurate too. One can zoom in to check focus & focus peaking is also accurate. Since the sensor is the same so I hesitate to get the new one.
