Now that is both bizarre and riveting.
Good catch.

As is the illusion. Then only real things in life are the shadows.

Just came back to me: in July of '72 we did a Vogue/IWS shoot in Luxembourg.

Remembering the good old days of lousy reception of Radio Luxembourg on 208, we went there out of nostalgia to find out if we could use a studio as location.

We were sent along to meet a guy working live - I think it was Mark Wesley - and after being surprised at how tiny the studio was, we got to chatting. I brought it back to the reason we were talking, and asked him if we could shoot up there. I think he took it in a different way to the intended, and said yeah, as long a nobody sees you doing it. He was either very quick, or I was very slow. Or both. In the end, we passed - not a lot photogenic that we could see. I suppose I imagined it would look like a recording studio, providing lots of techy props, which were sure to have been more interesting than the stuffy clothes that the IWS promoted at the time. Ah, the influence of all those LP covers!

He sat in a tiny room where were speaking, and through a glass partition was an engineer. Today, I would have leaped at the chance, and shot through the glass, bringing in as many reflected double-images as possible. At that time, I would never have been paid, possibly been sued for professional negligence or failure, and have never worked again. Too many anachronisms in life.

But the memories can be fun.
