Splash Pages

Just being curious

When starting LR first of all comes a Splash Page which disappears almost immediately and the Library.
Then there is an interval (LR loading, I suppose) during which LR does not respond at all. Clicking anywhere makes the display gray
After that there comes the same Splash Page again (looks like LR were opening for the second time), then it disappears and LR is ready to use.

Is this normal?

I get that sometimes but not often, usually it shows up just once.

I get it sometimes. When I get it, LR sometimes fails to load.

I got it the other day right after the update to 8.4.  I've never seen it under normal conditions.  Windows 10

I see it frequently on Windows. A few versions ago, the second splash used to be a blank 2:1 rectangle and I believe this was connected with licencing. As far as I can tell, the blank rectangle has been replace with a second instance of the splash screen which looks a little more deliberate, a little less clunky.

I haven't experienced it on MacOS 10.14.6 (yet?)

I've not seen it at all on Mac.
