Half on topic and just curious... Seems like every time I launch the Adobe Creative Cloud app (Windows) it needs to update itself first before allowing updates to Photoshop, LR, etc. And that CC update seems long and laborious, often longer than the subsequent app update.
During the CC update strange things happen. My desktop icons flash and refresh a couple times. That is usually an indication someone is diddling with OS settings or features. There is a period when no on-screen progress is shown. Often as much as a minute or two, making you think it's done, but it's not. Task Manager shows continued CPU usage by the CC app and a few others, floating between 1% and 10%, even after the CC interface window appears and is ready to use. The CPU usage does not go "quiet" for many minutes.
When it's finally done-done I shut it down and re-launch. On re-launch it pops right up and goes quiet, no CPU usage. So, what the hell is going on? The CC update has the "signature" of spyware, running around gathering up lots of info and phoning home.
