Yes! Completely. Don't change a thing. Totally alludes to my autistic mind. Great graphics, which themselves provide good depth, layering, and interest. Well done this.

Or maybe one thing: rotate 90degr clockwise (Probably what it was originally?). Looks fine vertical. It's about the layering and graphical interest: if the light comes from higher up instead of sideways, it adds to the verticality. Not in the same way horizontally.

Brought to my mind a pic by Margaret Bourke White in Life Magazine #1
Who knows why...

Great shot. There is excellent movement and flow in the light-shadow interplay.

Very nice subject(s),framing, light - spot on. Couple of things, there seems to be a bit of a magenta/purple cast to it which of course don't know if was intentional - I find it a slight bit too much and bit distracting. Maybe look at it with a "gelatin silver print" process look edging toward the work of Rodchenko et al...maybe not quite that much tint...but on other side of the color wheel.

I would crop the two vertical bits of wood on the left to concentrate on the right hand part of the image. As it is there is imo a disconnect between left and right. An image with good potential.

First, thanks for the suggestions.

Both reposted new images are cropped (stamper's suggestion) and I removed their
purple tint (brantb's suggestion).  The original lighting entered
the picture from the right -- the way it was first posted.  32BT suggested inverting
the image so that it enters from the top to emphasizie the vertical.  I did this
on the second reposted image.

Further comments are welcomed.

No, no, no.

Don't crop. Don't change anything. The balance between contrasts what just fine. Especially the darker bit to the left. But I only suggested, read carefully: rotate. Like attached. Please don't mess up the balance by cropping. Please don't.

For my taste, the tinting was actually also quite appropriate. Intentional or not. A bit coldish for an estranging structure.

You see how innocent invitations end up effing with your mind?

It's not even my picture, but a nice, pleasant visual experience that made me think of my "Outage" series, and how I'd have used your image (had it been mine - I wouldn't touch anyone else's) to fit within my series. But the chat has messed with my mind regardless of image ownership!

If there was one thing I'd change about LuLa it's the critique section: I'd bin it. I never came across such a lot of verbal nonsense in my life! Pix are pix, and they either turn you on or pass you by, neither being a definitive judgement since two personalities are unavoidable involved in such an interchange. What value is somebody else's opinion of your art? Nada. If your were in the position where external opinion mattered you'd probably not be posting here because the opinions emanating from here would be irrelevant to your commercial life.

Be yourself: nobody knows what's good for you better than you do yourself.

arlen and petermfiore thanks for your positive comments.

Rob C, don't be too hard on anyone.  I posted the image in this section to
receive suggestions.  I took them all in good cheer.  In fact, all of the
suggestions forced me to reconsider my presentation of this image.

One difficulty with this type of image is that it can be presented many
different ways.  Because of the suggestions I think I can improve
upon its original version.

Comments are still welcome.
