Hi Paul. My main landscape thing was a Leaf 80 MP on a Cambo monorail camera. At least with that system, I had a sliding back, you could change lenses with the sensor tucked away. The problem was the camera leaked dust. As you say. Technical cameras and backs have a lot of dust issues, well that was my experience.

A few years ago I found myself in the middle of a national park in Lesotho with this rather expensive system being protected by a golf umbrella as a thunderstorm swept over.  I decided I was tired of it. Well done to you for sticking with it.

By the way, did you never manage to meet up with Riaan? A genuine, nice guy.

Nope I didn’t. Wanted to in the first part of this year but things didn’t work out very well. I was helping a close friend who had severe health issues and that had no sooner ended when my GF picked up three months work in Tanzania leaving me to look after the household, four pets and a frail mother. I have flying to Tanzania for a two week holiday with my girlfriend before she comes home.

Let’s see what I can do in the next six months. I am very keen to hook up with him and do some photography. I should drop him a mail actually.

I've never had an easier sensor to clean than on a digital back, but it did need cleaning all the more often.
