Please help me create my new website, part I
« on: June 30, 2019, 03:11:40 pm »

Hello fellow LuLa readers.   Due to the nature of my work, every summer I have 4-8 weeks to dedicate to less work time and more personal projects.  This summer I've decided to get my photography website in order.  There's a lot to do, but for now I'm looking to create several themed portfolios to give some order to my catalog, and  I'd love some feedback on my selections.

The first catalog is themed around minimalist compositions and the muted feel and colors of mornings on the Pacific Ocean.  Id appreciate any feedback about any individual images that don't fit, don't work or otherwise seem unworthy of  grouping into this set.

Thanks for looking, and all feedback is appreciated!

All fine photographs, James. However, vertical trees feel somehow are out of place, at least in these groupings. You might include them together, with more verticals, for instance.

Thanks - if I wasn't clear, consider all 8 as one grouping as we can only attach 4 per post.  In that case, would you eliminate BOTH trees, or just the single portrait orientation image?

Given the constraints, I would eliminate both. If you want to keep at least one, I'd keep the horizontal orientation one (it has a meaning, the portrait one is pretty touristry).

Upon reflection, I believe you are right.   The 6 non-tree images it is.

Why remove both trees? Why not just the vertical, as Slobodan suggests? Does the collection need to have six photographs (or eight)?

Hi Terry - no set number at all.

I have to concur with most of the comments. The vertical tree does not seem to belong and does not have the same high-impact atmospheric or minimalist combination as the others. But this really is a fine collection.
