Mueller told them how he was going to respond if he was called to testify.  He did exactly that, saying nothing, refusing to corroborate what his own report said.  The Democrats didn't take him at his word.  But the fact is, there was no case.  But the main thing that I believe is the Democrats on his team who did all the work, left the obstruction "issue" in there to give ammunition to the Democrats to continue the charges against Trump until the 2020 election.  Of course, Mueller's performance weakens any arguments they will present.  I suspect many of the Democrat presidential nominees will continue to call for impeachment and the Democrat run House committees will continue their witch hunt of Trump as well.  Just what most American don't care about due to other more important issues.  Pelosi must be furious.

There is some similarity between the politics in the UK and the US; Politicians are too much busy with the game of party politics and forget about the essence; Doing what is right for the future of their country.

Presidents are elected for a term of 4 years and can be re-elected for one additional term only.  In a parliamentary system, it can end quicker.  But in America, only impeachment and conviction of high crimes and misdemeanors, or resignation or death ends a president's term.  Unfortunately, the Democrats just can't get over the fact Trump won and Hillary lost.  So they are trying mightily to use impeachment to get rid of him rather than using an election where the people decide, a better and more acceptable route.

I agree.  Mueller didn't want to get drawn into the politics of the situation or effect it other than what the reports says.  But that's what he said a few weeks ago if the Congress decided to call him to testify.  Democrats didn't take him at his word, called him anyway to testify proving Trump right and being a victim, and now will suffer the consequences of looking stupid as well.

You don't need Photoshop to change a photo's meaning. Editors spin a photo's meaning all the time with a phony caption or essay.

By this time it is a miracle that people do not get it that Trump is not like any other president, or any other politician, for that matter. Any other politician would pander to the public he speaks to, to the point of adjusting accent to better blend in (like AOC suddenly switching to a ghetto black, when addressing a black crowd, of Hillary's faked southern drawl) or Bill inventing empathizing stories. Trump is a guy who says what he thinks, as if he is sitting at your kitchen table. Many people like that level of honesty. If you ever watched Dr. House (a TV series), you'd know how someone universally described as a major jerk is, at the same time, universally beloved and popular.

As for "sitting at the kitchen table"... A personal experience. My ex-wife is Russian, so we had a lot of Russian friends we would be sitting with around our (or their) kitchen table. There would inevitably be one or two who would start with "America this" or "America that" with a strongly negative connotation. Inevitably, most of us sitting around would respond with: "Heck, Vasya, if it is that bad, why don't you go back?" It is a natural human reaction, nothing racist about it.

A related story, not exactly the same.  My grandmother on my mother's side came over from Europe as a child around 1900.  She never became a citizen and spoke little English to her dying days.  Her husband became a naturalized American citizen.  He used to file her alien papers; a requirement at that time.  When my grandfather died, my father would file the papers for her as he worked in the US Post Office and had easy access to the forms.  Every year, right before the papers would have to be re-filed, my grandmother would telephone every day and start pestering my dad to hurry up and file the papers.  "Hurry up," she would yell him in Yiddish, "before they send me back." She was still worried after being here for 75 years.  By that time of course, the little town she grew up in in Eastern Poland or Russia, (depends on what century we're talking about), had long disappeared over the course of time.  They wouldn't know where to send her in any case.  Today, she's buried in New York as is my grandfather, both Americans forever.
