In Search of Patterns - UPDATE - Spider Awards
« on: June 24, 2019, 12:31:42 am »

Since rabanito wanted me out of a debate and into the street to shoot "great" photography, I had no choice.

Modern Miami, downtown and Brickell; light, shadow, and reflections:

UPDATE - 14th Spider Awards Nominee for a b&w version of the first OP shot (in the Architecture category). Also for the bird shot in the Wildlife category (see post #16)

Now I understand their problem: the good folks of Florida are colour-blind.

It's the swamp gasses, you know.

Color-blind or blinded by color?

Yes, excellent, Young Slobodan.
I think you have learned well from your Teacher, the Elder Slobodan, who used to post here regularly using the same handle.    ;D

The mermaids I am not keen on, but you probably intended those to show color. The rest are splendid.

I disagree: Slobodan the Elder (possibly a distant relative to Pliny; compare the passport shots:

 https://www.google.com/search?q=pliny+the+elder&rlz=1C2PRFE_enES586ES586&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=AuleW_m8yJxskM%253A%252Cgbb372FWfP5q8M%252C%252Fm%252F0c7b1&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kRLP-4QtAc5JejKKveyx_3pO4eEAA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi6ienKm4TjAhVimVwKHYBvCyoQ_B0wGXoECAwQAw#imgrc=AuleW_m8yJxskM: )

was of a more mature, conservative demeanour. The Younger lacks the gravitas of the Elder.

Apart from anything else, it must be very confusing for the daughter, suddenly finding this stranger in Dad's rôle. Should she believe, of call the police? Or consult Dr Trump for the true, definitive answer?

;-)

Right you are, Rob.
I never knew there were so many photographs around of Pliny the Elder.

To placate the public, who would rather discuss my picture than my pictures, I had to revert to it.

You have my personal permission to use either one, and I won't tease you any more (or not much.)

Anyway, both of yours look much more human than does my picture.   ;)

Congrats. Fine images. I had look through the bw abstract images on the Spider site and find it interesting that abstract thread was full of images no different than on LULa's abstract thread. It seems anything non-representational was accepted and not just 'pure' abstracts.
