My Epson V-750 has stopped working
« on: June 22, 2019, 05:07:31 pm »

This scanner has been a reliable workhorse for some 10 years, and all of a sudden it won't work. The Epson Scan program does not see it and then crashes. I have rebooted, reinstalled the driver and program, tried a different USB port, replaced the cable, and sacrificed a chicken, all to no avail. And perhaps most frustrating, I have spent half an hour going in circles on the Epson website looking for a way to contact support. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I just Googled Epson scanner support and soon came to this page:
https://epson.com/Support/Scanners/Perfection-Series/Epson-Perfection-V750-Pro/s/SPT_B11B178061

Note that one of the links is "Contact us."

Will that help?

After ten years I might be tempted to get a new one. My V800 has been doing nicely for several years.

To contact Epson America, you may write to 3840 Kilroy Airport Way, Long Beach, CA 90806 or call 1-800-463-7766

Just for giggles, you might try a Vuescan trial just to make sure it's the hardware and not some software glitch.

Thanks for the responses. FWIW, I installed the software on another computer and the scanner works fine. Needless to say I have removed and reinstalled the software on the problem computer. I'll try to contact Epson.

What operating system ?
if windows, you may have to go manually delete some intermediate files - *twain*.* if the uninstaller/ installer did not. i think,  in the \system32 or \system folders.  If these get corrupted, then nothing works.

there should be a manual uninstall FAQ

Once I figured out how to contact them, Epson support responded quickly with a utility program that fixed things, and all is now copacetic. Thanks for y'all's help.

Did you eat the chicken?
