New Messages Yellow Dot Question
« on: June 20, 2019, 03:51:51 am »

Ok, this is newbie-ish, but it has mildly irritated me for a long time. Clicking on the yellow "dot" to the left of a topic brings up new messages since the last time one has viewed them. A lot of the time when that dot is illuminated, I click and there are no new messages. What's up with that? Why it the dot sometimes on with no messages and sometimes it is off?

I never even noticed the yellow dot, so I have never used it.
But when I login to the Forum, I immediately click on "Show unread posts since last visit" in the upper right corner of the screen and that has always worked reliably for me.

yeah, the big yellow dot doesn’t seem to do anything.  Never really tried it.

Personally I”m more interested in just new posts on particular subjects, so I glance down the list of titles and if they are one’s I’m interested in, and there are new posts, I click the little NEW button next to the title.
