Suggestions on Backlit paper?
« on: June 14, 2019, 10:00:56 am »

Hello,
recently i received a request from a client about backlit prints.
Since i've never made anything like that (except maybe on the Digital Transfer Film from Permajet), do you have any paper to recommend?
I would like to start with some sample so maybe small size roll or even flat paper box.
I use pigment canon plotter.

Thank you

When I did that kind of stuff, here's what I used:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/544974-REG/Pictorico_PICT35001_Pictorico_Pro_Hi_Gloss_White.html

It's also good for making digital negs for contact printing.

Japanese papers like Epson's Kozo can look very nice backlit.

Awagami suggest some kozo paper for backlit, but i was looking for something less expensive since will be for large format.

Yes might be a little pricy but oh what a special look.
Always elicits comments. More of an artsy look, not hi-res.
Kozo on mahogany frame.

Have you seen the new ColorLyte glass. Dye sublimation on coated glass.
20x30 In lightbox and another 20x30 hung with standout posts. Nice stuff.
