The way of the west
« on: June 13, 2019, 08:35:05 pm »

The beginning of a 10 mile hike with my wife and another couple we are dear friends with. As I was just about to start I noticed the billowing clouds over the human figure on the ridge on the right known as the "Priest" and the rocks to his left are the nuns. The lone rock on the left is known as castle rock. This image doesn't give the viewer the perspective of just how MASSIVE these titans are, overlooking the entire valley and how massive the clouds were as we started our hike in Castle Valley. Moments like this capture the heart of what we love about this land, timeless in its beauty and immutable as it changes everyday in ways beyond our perception...the way of the west.

As usual, your introduction is excellent and the photo splendid. I like the composition with the big boulder that fills the left side of the frame. Rock formations and the crow (?) are perfect for the tall rock formations in the distance.
Well done, bravo!

I like a good story as well as a good photo.  The boulder in the lower left corner help to tie this all together.
