JPEG sidecars

I accidentally set my camera to shoot RAW + JPEG, and LR was set to import the JPEGs as sidecar files. I have no use for these - can I get rid of them?

Yes, select them in Explorer/Finder and delete them there. Apart from other reasons for shooting raw+jpeg, in LR they can be useful with some cameras if you import with the embedded and sidecar option.
