Reprise

This was shot some years back and shown in colour; I think I like it more this way - less distraction from what is, after all, the subject and reason the camera was raised.

I guess Lindbergh understands this pretty well! He's pretty much made his long career out of b/w which doesn't mean he hasn't also shot great colour, too.

P.S.

Oscar, guess you're right about it being unlikely I'll embrace hi-fi cameras...  :-)

Some images are transformed when seen in monochrome and this is one of them.  Colour or color can act like a filter obscuring the real subject and moment.

A zzZ7 for god's sake. What were you thinking? It's clear that sleep deprivation is getting the better of you...

Thanks for the comments - I decided last night to set up the Nikon with its seldom-used 180mm and go to the local market this morning. Needless to say, I gave it a pass. Can't seem to turn the theoretical into the practical - possibly because of the rare times shots there have come up with anything other than frustration. Masochism, for me, is of the past!

That said, I do feel kinda knackered these days, perhaps a mixture of age/reality?

I watched an interesting documentary on depression last night on the BBC; it was about a certain Mr Campbell, Tony Balir's ex- PR guru. Poor guy seems to have suffered from it all his life. I'm pretty sure I have nothing like that - more likely too acute a sense of reality?

I like it, but I'm pretty sure it will work in color to.
