Getting married as a photographer
« on: May 19, 2019, 10:13:53 am »

Yesterday, I did it again, getting married.

Instead of hiring another photographer (since I was on the wrong side of the camera this time, and the photographer I trust the most was invited as friend) I gave the camera in Auto mode on one of our sons.
I also provided a pile of polaroid packs and gave a few Instax cameras to the guests, on the table a tin box to collect the shots.

What a fun to discover the photo's!

If you played it right, best deal in the world.

Congratulations to both of you!

Rob

P.S.

I'm impressed that you could keep a secret so well! ;-)

Congratulations Ivo.

I did something similar when getting married 42 years ago. I had a Leica M4, would set the focus, speed and aperture then hand it a guest to take the shot and run back to my position. We got 24 perfectly acceptable wedding photographs at minimal cost. We were totally broke at teh time.

How the hell did you acquire an M4 at that time and be broke, or was that cause and effect?

Reminds me of a friend who bought a Cadillac Escalade, but would often leave it at home, as it consumed a lot of gas  ;D

There's another side to that syndrome, those who buy great but used: your genuine dealership services and parts will still be costed as to suit the pockets of those buying new. Just think of tyres for a Ferrari and instead buy a small Ford!

Then, why would you buy a Ferrari tyre, ever?

Thanks all

Our son with no experience took the pictures with my Canon R. I particular love this shot, focus missed, but, hell, I don't care.

I thought you were kidding. Congratulations. I think I recognize that dress from photos at the restaurant parlour, no?

Yes indeed.
We had a photo session with the dress for the shop and that’s how the idea to have a retro styled marriage has grown.

Tx

Legion d’honneur is French.

No it’s a red Carnation. 😬
