hello im back an thankyou 4 that link. i will get on2 it ,,, alos another Q that i have my sound has disapeared from the cp its a sony vaio i looked on the sony website to down the the sound drivers but couldnt find then would any1 no another site or link that i can do this the pc is saying that its gone from  the systum some how . i no nothing about computers what so ever now as far as i no i just need to download the audio sound drivers back into it so would love it if some can help me please please please....  thanks ppl.............

Hi there!  Perhaps not the best place for this particular question . . . .

Dumb question - is your sound muted?

Try Win XP's system restore;  Start | All Programs | Accesories | System Tools | SSystem Restore

Sony's site *should* have what you need, you'll probably need to dig a bit more.  

To identify your hardware, Hit [Win Key]+ [Pause] to bring up System Properties (or Start | Control Panel | System ). Select the Hardware Tab, then Device Manager.  You'll probably see the Tree or Outline view of your system devices expanded - if there is a problem.
