Hi,
I am embarking on a project to digitize a 35mm slide archive. I have set up a rig to photograph the slides with a macro lens.

What would the ideal light source be so that I may make a definitive assumption about the copy systems white balance?

I have soft boxes with continuous tungsten lamps, Canon Speedlite flash heads, and some cheapo low grade LED panels.

I live in a place with lots of clear blue sky.

I know the slides may, and will have white balance issues, and would like to think that my reproductions start with a faithful representation of the slides as they exist.

I think a continuous light source will enable easy confirmation of focus, framing etc. so I inclined to try that, but am seeking suggestions.

 What would you suggest?

 Thank you.

Aside from heat, can't beat Solux in terms of their SPD (spectrum)
