hasselblad MS backs

I'm curious about how the MS function works on the H backs (i.e. with a HD4-50ms)

Is this something useful in landscape photography? is there much of a delay between each of the shots? (i.e. would the clouds be in a totally different position by frame 4)?

I'd more worry abt leaves shaking. More likely clouds won't be shifting too much, if at all. MS is usually for product, Architectural, .. basic still life. Personally I'd love to shoot Arches N.P, Yosemite, ... w/a M.S.

The mirror locks up and there is negligible delay between shots. The type of images you describe generally work just fine, and Phocus tells you if it detects movement or lighting changes that may affect image quality. Hopefully you are already aware that tethering is required for MS? My H4D200MS tethers quite well with a 13" MBP in the field, although it sometimes requires reestablishing the connection if I let the laptop go to sleep.

You can get cross hatch patterns in the clouds. Sometimes with fast winds you will get message that there was movement and the shot sequence will fail, but it will work a lot of the time.  Just take a single frame and paint over the cross hatch parts in the clouds etc.

I have uses MS backs for years. Nothing beats the color & sharpness of MS. I would not use it for things like landscape though. Too much of a hassle. You could do so. I have developed a process for multishot in wich I took a MS image and after that a single shot (still think it would be a great idea if HB would offer that as an option in Phocus). I could paint in the single shot wherever movement had ruined the MS shot.

Do keep in mind that you need to use a MS body tethered to Phocus which makes it even a bit more cumbersome. I would still just take the 100C and use that, much more enjoyable.
