Utah in Early October
« on: May 05, 2019, 11:23:23 pm »

I will be traveling to Utah in the first week of October for a trip totally devoted to photography.  Having never previously visited the national parks in Utah, I'm seeking recommendations for about an 8 day trip.  I will likely limit myself to two of the parks.  Any suggestions concerning which two parks would make a good pair in early October with about 3-4 days in each?  Thanks for any suggestions.

Wherever else you go, go to Bryce.

Canyonlands & Arches National Parks for your 1st half and Hwy 12 which incorporates Bryce among other very interesting spots along it. Research Hwy 12.

Second Wolfman's suggestion about Hwy 12. I'd start at Bryce and then follow 12 thru the Escalante Grand Staircase all the way to Capital Reef.
Enough landscape for a decade's long project.

You should/must also get a copy of Laurent Martes' Photographing the Southwest Volume 1 - Southern Utah.  It's essential for what you are planning.

Bryce and Zion would be my two choices.

Mike Coffey - Thanks so much for the recommendation of Photographing the Southwest Vol. 1 agree that it is a terrific planning tool.
