Fly gets inside zoom lens, dies, but image quality not affected

Back when I was in school I had a spiderweb inside an 85mm lens...It was magical. A  softness in part of the image. I got so I could determine it's effect with certainty. I cherished that lens.

When I was in school all I had was a plastic tlr Brownie. It used 127 film.

Maybe I should install a tiny fly swatter inside each of my lenses, just to be ready.

My club friend's first camera was a Sigma SD 14. One day he got a bug inside the camera and complained to Sigma. They told him it was impossible and to bring it in. So he brought it to Sigma and was asked to wait. A whole team of technicians showed up in lab coats and asked him to show them the bug. They were incredulous. He showed them and they all burst out laughing. Apparently they thought it was a virus "bug." Rather amusing, the whole thing. But it turned him off Sigma cameras for good.
