Warm or Cool?
« on: November 07, 2006, 01:20:03 pm »

I can't decide which version I like best, the warm or cool one.  The photo is of the Alton Bridge in Alton, IL.

Either one.  What I find disconcerting is the collapsing angle between the bridge and the shoreline/horizon.  Makes it look as though the photograph should be tilted, but that wouldn't solve anything...

Agreed.

I like the warm one better - no reason.

I agree with the collapsing angle problem, too.

I like the cool one better, but that's only from looking at the thumbnails.

The warm one has too little colour contrast in the reflected lights, and that kind of spoils the composition to me.

But the cool one seems to be a bit too cool. Perhaps the image could be kept warm above the horizon and cool below ...

Thanks for the comments.  I'll have to think about possibly retaking the photo from a better vantage point.

Thanks again!

Warm, but the composition does nothing for me.  Too centered, no focal point, my eye doesn't go anywhere.
