Sony a6000 focusing with FE24240 lens
« on: March 28, 2019, 09:27:44 pm »

I bought my a6000 when Sony Canada was closing stores. Price was good. Bought a couple of lenses; kit lenses not fast but ok.
A while later I fell and broke my shoulder. Right across the humorous...I bought the Sony FE24240 so I wouldn't have to change lenses. I had one hand to use. Yes my shoulder healed.
I kept the Sony FE24240 on the camera. Sold my 2 other Sony lenses. I'm not about to upgrade the camera body; I'm not going to go full frame.

That's background...

Question!

Does lens aperture affect focusing ability of this camera? This lens takes images that I like. Do I need to shoot at maximum, largest aperture?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It affects focussing if you have set Live View Effect to on. In Other words it affects focussing if you are using the brightness of the viewfinder to help you determine exposure. But only if you have selected an aperture other than maximum aperture.
