Hi again!
Uff, I made another bad mistake in my initial drawing. The viewing distance was not to scale either. The corrected drawing shows a more favorable situation. I also took into account that, based on the mounting and the hanging mechanism, the image will protrude say 5 cm from the wall. (Fig 6) If I accept to lower the upper edge of the image just 10 cm, the situation becomes  even more favorable. (fig 7). - Sorry for this!

By chance I'm looking for something similar right now, just tested some LED stripes yesterday and found this solution working for our hallway:
http://www.ledstrip-lighting.com/sale-11699696-aluminum-profile-led-linear-lighting-recessed-type-in-the-wall-with-pmma-opal-cover.html
Our corridor will have clean walls to place the images and we left the raw concrete ceiling and floor. The stripe will light the middle part of the ceiling without exposing the actual LEDs to your eyes, the middle area of the ceiling becomes the light emitting part which is looking great because of the strong light fall off from the profile. We will probably use it without the opal cover to further enhance the rough structure of the concrete shuttering. Just a thought for a different approach...

Hi Ulf,
thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I don't quite understand your post though. This looks to me like a wall-mounted aluminum profile for a strip light, not something mounted under the ceiling? Or do you mount the strips on the upper part of the wall, directed to the ceiling, so the light will be reflected from there?
This may work in a (narrow) corridor, but unfortunately not in my situation.
add-on: Have you seen their minimum order quantity, 100 meters ?

Also, as I see it, the problem does not (only) seem to be the direct light of the lamp hitting the eye, but the reflection of the light in the image. At least this is what the 'family of angles' is about, if I understand it right.

I have in the meantime found this, which would  probably be my ideal solution:
https://www.seeger-licht.de/produkte.html
Scroll down about halfway the page, to "LED TRIXS Tracklight". (I can not find it on the english version of the web site. Generally, their web site seems badly maintained/outdated.)
This is a 2-string tracklight, the 2 strings can be tilted separately. Unlike for others of their products, there is no downloadable .pdf with technical details. And they have not responded to my e-mail inquiry concerning these - and a price. The latter will probably be the show stopper, I'm afraid...

That's exactly what I meant :-) Sorry if I was not clear. I met a friend of mine who is selling lighting fixtures, we discussed and explored the lighting in our new studio and we came up with this idea for the corridor. It was looking spectacular, I´ll post the results, once it is installed (will take a couple of weeks, though). Yep I saw the minimum quantity, I also prefer not to buy directly from china ;-) I was just looking for a similar profile to show what I meant. Cheers!
