Intel Optane is just like MacOS Fusion drive - it's a small NVMe SSD caching device designed to sit in front of a larger normal hard drive or slower solid state chips. There are enterprise products marketed under the name as well. The tech is designed for the server market, where lots of data write/overwrite/updates lead to wear issues on ssd chips.
You're better off with top end consumer NVMe devices, and more of them.
