Paper types and color shift
« on: March 06, 2019, 02:05:34 am »

hi all
Could paper  react with ink (especially dye) and make a color shift after for example 2 days ?  or this color shift due to bad dye ink  ?
Note that when using Pigment ink no color shift ...when using dye color shifts (some inks to green and some to yellow)

You'll do much better in this forum if you describe your problem, not ask if your conclusion is correct.

I suggest you describe your equipment, paper, specifically what problem you're seeing, etc.  The more detailed information the better.

As a generalisation, yes you can get shifts in colour as the inks dry.  As inks have developed over the years this problem has been considerably reduced.  It is also true that pigment inks are a lot less likely to exhibit this issue – at least in my experience

My Canon old Pro9000 (dye inks) always showed a shift towards green on drying down over 24 hours.

But more information would help folk on this forum to assist you more.
