P800 Question
« on: February 15, 2019, 05:09:11 pm »

Recently moving to a smaller house has caused some paring down of  the usual "stuff"; consequently, my solid desk which held the P800 and the 24" mac., etc. is gone.

The move meant a small IKEA glass topped table as a replacement -which works well & looks good architecturally - but, the printer does have some minimal lateral movement caused by the print head as it traverses laterally.  I did not have this motion previously because my desk was heavy & solidly built!
I can not see any difference in the prints between now and prior to my move. But, I am considering placing some Sorbothane vibration pads under the P800's pads/feet only - not under the entire printer.

Not sure that this will cure the problem as the problem may be the IKEA table itself. So, what have others used a a stable support for their desk top mounted printer? Thoughts would be appreciated.

that shaking could help in agitating the carts, thus slowing pigment settling.

by giving the vibrations no where to go and then feeding back into the chassis,
it might affect *something* (head positioning accuracy).

all slim to none but since you asked ;)
