I've seen dippers, in the Canadian Rockies, but I've never managed to get a shot of one.

Those are my favorite small bird.  They are cool to watch!  I've seen them along the Rocky Mountains, but believe it or not South Dakota has a small population as well in the mountain range on the west end of the state (the Black Hills.)  It's an isolated group and the furtherest population to the east.
