Landing page suggestion...

One of the things that has annoyed me over the past few years has been the photo galleries at the top of LuLa’s  landing page. They always made me wonder if I was on a self-promotion page for one, individual photographer, Kevin and now Josh, rather than a website celebrating the work and insights of many photographers the world over.

With the plethora of compelling photos posted on this site by some truly insightful photographers, I would suggest using some of those photos on the landing page, if galleries are going to remain (and if the poster permits, of course).

Exactly the direction we are headed. My own work in the slider is just a placeholder for a short time.
The change over of management includes our web dev team. "Things" are in the works.

Glad to hear that Josh.  The other thinking that irks me is the title Founders page. For me,  the founder is Michael and I would land there and it was a non-founder posting.  What about making the Founders page a place to put Michaels work and articles that have been appearing under the title Rewind, and creating a new tab for what you want to do. Glad to hear things are in the works. I will look forward to new inspiration!

I really like Terry's suggestion, which also offers the prospect of more frequent refreshes to the landing page.  In the past, I believe the convention was to refresh the top photo when there was a new article posted.  If done properly, the featured landing photos themselves would be enough reason to return, even if there was not a new article.

I like the idea, too.  I almost never visit the main page.  When I do, I don’t stay long. I only pay my $12 to keep the forum in biz.
