Eiki Projector on MacPro - DVI-D to VGA
« on: January 03, 2019, 10:36:26 am »

I have an old (Early 2008) MacPro that uses a DVI-D connector on a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB board and an old Eiki projector that uses standard VGA. I also have a MacBook Pro (2009) with mini-displayport. The projector works fine on the MBP using a VGA/MDP adapter, but it won't work on the MacPro. I've tried several adapters, cables, etc., but nothing seems to work. I had a wide-screen TV connected to the same port on the MacPro and it worked fine. I've tried other monitors on the port, which also works fine, so I know it's not the port. I'm at a loss of what to try next. Any suggestions?

Have you tried changing the resolution in the Display System Preferences?

I have a box full of cables but these days just use an Apple TV for presentations and don't worry about cables.
