Strange, some poor pictures are getting cheap appreciation and this good work is left without comments.

Good image, good composition and good light!

Be careful. I also don't go to an exhibition by Rembrandt and comment on each picture.
The first is "OOOOH AAAAHH!". The second "OOOOH!"- The third "HH" and from then on it is just enjoy them  :) :)

Agree, it would look stupid, writing +1 under the painting. But that doesn’t explain the cheering under poor pictures. Or is it a kind of family thing, cheering at the clay art of grandma at the annual exhibit of the local clay club?

There is a certain cadre of members here that attaboy each others work regardless of merit in a mutual back patting society. Frankly, it's all they've got.

OK, then, I'll say it: This photo is superb.

But then again, the same can be said about pretty much any photo Hans posts.

I have never met him, but I respond positively to the kinds of scenes he photographs, whether others do or not.

+1, Eric. Though I'm sure Fab and Ivo will suspect we're scratching each-others backs.

I think it a lovely image. But then I expect this standard from Hans.

Let's keep it a secret then, Russ, that we actually disagree on some things at times.   ;)

Thanks for all the comments :) It's ok if a picture goes with no comments. It is not a critique forum so no comments are needed, but of course always welcome.

Happy New Year!!

As for the "cheering" Ivo mentions, I think it's a good thing when the critique is constructive, not meaning "positive" if there is something to criticize.
In my case I enjoy when people like my photos, I don't kid myself about their value but it motivates me to do more and trying to do better.
