WTB: Profilemaker 5.0 or similar old Profiling Software
« on: December 26, 2018, 07:52:48 pm »

Does anyone have a legal copy with the dongle they no longer use? (actually I only need the dongle). I have an X-rite DPT41 USB version that I used to use with Roland Versaworks. I no longer use Versaworks but need a profiling package that will support the USB version of the x-rite DPT41. The old X-rite still works perfectly but is junk unless I can find another package to drive it. I do not want to become victim to vendor-induced obsolescence and have to pony up for a new spectro!
All and anything considered. Many thanks, Alistair.

Thanks for the suggestion DP, but unfortunately Argyll only supports the DPT41 with serial connection. Mine is USB.

You want the free Xrite ColorPort utility which can drive the spectro. It doesn't need a dongle and can read the data and output a file.
Afterwards you can use anything including Argyll to make the profile.

Note that there were always cracked versions of Monaco Profiler Platinum floating round the net, I don't think they ever went away or will in the foreseeable future because it's actually very nice software.

Ah, excellent suggestions Edmond. I did not realize that Argyll will import data from the Xrite App. Thank you so much! I will download that software you suggest and see if I can work out how to upload into Argyll! Good suggestion too to look out for cracked versions of the commercial software. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

You just need to save a standard CGATs file. Then lots of other applications can deal with that data.
