The maximum I've put through an I1iSis XL 2 is .46mm, matte. It requires just a bit of pressure to initially feed which was noted in something that came with the instrument. However, MK inks tend to smear a bit on the rollers. The problem is worse on .46 mm paper than .32 mm paper (210 gsm). And it depends on the printer ink. My 9500 II is much worse than the 9800. The MK carbon particles are not well bound to the paper and some adhere to the rubber rollers which strongly press into the paper in order to advance the paper accurately during scanning. I have a special image format routine which sets the patches so that the tread smears, which are very narrow, occur at/near the patch edges. This gets good readings but I still have to clean the rollers afterwards or residual MK ink will leave marks on the next few papers.
