Coincidentally, my picture was taken with the same lens as President Medvedev is holding.

As he clearly doesn't have the slightest idea of what it is, just another great example of the use of product placement.

Havana, Cuba:

That is a refreshingly nice Cuba picture. I was seriously worried when You said to leave for a Cuba trip.
Worried to be flooded by the endless stream of old rusty cars, toothless grannies with cigars and over saturated street sceneries.
But no. Great shot.

I can recommend the book ‘Cuba Libre’
Isabelle Béart photographed by Sylvie Lancrenon.

Havana, Cuba:

Beautiful soft tones in that image, and the pink/mauve object to the right offering balance. It all adds up  -:)

Thanks, Ivo.

But I have to ask, are you criticizing my last year’s Cuba portfolio? 😉

Okay, since Slobodan has had vacation of sorts, i have to ask:

WTF is the relevance of ANY of the pictures in this thread?

And that's not even getting into the "street" definition thing.

No, I didn’t know you had a last year Cuba portfolio.

I don't know about other pics posted in this thread, but my OP one belongs to Street based on Magnum's definition. As an aside, I do not even understand what you meant by "relevance"? Relevance to the genre, or relevance for the state of the world, or...?

... toothless grannies with cigars...

That was last year. My toothless granny this year sleeps pretty in pink:

Relevance for us as fellow forummembers who otherwise respect (most of) your photography?

Fair enough. So, what is wrong with the OP photo in that respect?

I'm entirely unclear what you're trying to share with us. I personally find it a horrible portrait of a beautiful woman, holding a camera. The portrait doesn't do her (or the camera) any justice, and the interaction is not of such particular interest that one can forgive the composition's  unattractiveness in favor of the story.

And, speaking of story, in order for a picture to fit the narrow definition of street, it at least has to have some kind of narrative. This lacks any kind of narrative. Hence, not street, whatever magnum has to say on the matter.

And for the record: i don't mind you sharing your trip in pictures, good, bad, or otherwise. I also don't mind posts here in street if it's done within the broader scope of not being landscape. I think of myself as fairly flexible, in that respect. Or should i say "tolerant" considering what i have to look at sometimes? ;-)

You entirely miss the point why Slobodan chooses this composition.

See also the picture of the pink lady.

The pictures are smartly composed to leave space for his signature.
