Frozen Falls, taken one year ago at Kirjufellsfoss during a Workshop One-on-One I led in Iceland. Leica M10, Voigtlander 10mm and filters Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra.

Very nice! Your somewhat unusual composition sets it apart from the more banal Iceland waterfall snaps.

Very nice! Your somewhat unusual composition sets it apart from the more banal Iceland waterfall snaps.

Thank you very much Peter, glad you found my composition interesting. I enjoy the challenge of photographing very famous and over-photographed locations: it is a good exercise to try and look at something with fresh eyes, trying and forgetting all the images one has already seen of a place. Whether it is always a successful exercise or not, I think it is very good for our "mind's eye" do do it - I am glad you found it successful here! :)

I didn't realize it got cold enough to do that there.  All in all it's pretty warm in the winter.

Yes it does, while it's true that winters aren't too cold I also have seen the whole river frozen at Kirkjufellsfoss, with people braving the ice and walking over it...
