Fuji X-T2 - USB to Windows 10
« on: December 08, 2018, 01:33:08 pm »

I ran off on a trip with a new laptop. It doesn't have a SD slot in it and so I expected to simply plug the camera to the USB port. When I plug in the camera I can see Live and Still "folders" but there is nothing in them. The Fuji manual says to use the MyFinePix Studio to download images, so I thought maybe there was something proprietary going on. But nope, MyFinePix Studio does not see them either.

I'll go out today and find an SD card reader but I'm still perplexed by why I can't just plug in my camera to my laptop.

Firmware is up to date on camera and Win10 did a bunch of updates when I set it up.

I tried USB 2 and 3 cables same result.

I did google the topic and didn't find anything that looked reasonable.

Thanks, MB

MB,

There is mode setting in Setup for the type of pc connection, see what mode you are in and change the mode, should work then.

Ah Ha. I had it on USB RAW CONV./BACKUP RESTORE. Set to USB CARD READER. Have not tried this yet but suppose it will fix me up.

Thanks Alan!
